“The important thing is somehow to begin” by Henry Moore
In 2008, I was given the opportunity in the NHS to work with a coach. I felt inspired by the positive impact it had and saw how it transformed my thinking, choices, what I wanted to learn and become involved in. This was the beginning of my formal journey as a Coach and Supervisor, and later in 2013 led to becoming self-employed and starting my own Business. Being familiar with a number of coaching and supervision models and frameworks, and having experience of working across different professions, adds depth and diversity to what I bring.
How I Got Started
With extensive experience of national and international health care, I have been active in hospital and community health settings over the past 30 years in Northern Ireland, Scotland, Ghana and England, latterly as an Associate Director and Consultant in Public Health. Key leadership roles: commissioning and redesign of public health services, partnership work across systems, applied social research and programme evaluation, growing leadership skills through coaching and supervision. From living and working in different cultures, experience of organisational changes and my own personal and professional journeys, I have learned what supports people to be productive and what sometimes gets in the way.
